Donna Elaine Venzke (Giberson), 83, passed away on March 14, 2024, in Toledo. She was born in Toledo on June 8, 1940. Donna was married for 65 years to David Venzke and loved her family dearly. Donna had a kind heart and a kind soul and would befriend anyone she met. Donna dedicated her life to her family and her career to healthcare, working as an ART in the Medical Records Department at both Riverside and St. Charles Hospitals until retiring from St. Charles. Soon after retirement, she began working at the Woodville Mall's Hot Sams Pretzels because she just loved people and loved staying busy. In her free time, Donna found joy in scratch-offs, crocheting, scratch-offs, reading, scratch-offs, conquering the Blade's daily crossword puzzles and scratch-offs. She played a mean racquetball game in her earlier years. And she really, really enjoyed scratch-offs.
Donna is survived by her husband, David Venzke, her son Jeff Venzke (Karen) and daughters Jacki Guy (Kevin) and Trisha Moore (Tommy), as well as grandchildren Breanne, Brooke, Madison, Maxx, Zeplin, Nugent, and five great-granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her mother Margaret Giberson, and sisters Mary Jane Shope, Helen Williams Taylor, Lillian Petree, and Gloria Golas.
Donna fought a long battle with dementia and the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be donated to Foundation Park Alzheimer's Care Center 1621 S Byrne Rd, Toledo, OH 43614 or the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate?msclkid=a9a684746d4511ce2dfde1875cbf3fa6.
Donna will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness and warmth will be forever in our hearts.
