Edwina “Kay” Romstadt

1941 – 2025

On April 30, 2025, God welcomed a new angel into heaven—a beautiful angel with a sparkle in her eyes, a dimple in her chin, and a little bit of spunk.

Edwina Kay Romstadt, lovingly known as Kay (aka I’m O-Kay), was cherished by many and lived a beautiful, joy-filled life. Born in 1941 in Iron City, Tennessee, she was the third daughter of James Edwin and Madeline Virginia Willis (Vaught). Kay spent her early years laughing and playing with her inseparable sisters, June and Joan. In 1946, the family moved to Ohio, eventually settling in Oregon, Ohio where her beloved brother Mike was born.

Kay attended Clay High School, where she proudly served as a majorette, graduating in 1959. She went on to attend Davis College of Business. She later became a mother to two children, John and Julie whom she adored with all her heart. Kay worked as a secretary at a realty office and Ford Motor Company before beginning a long and fulfilling career at Spartan Chemical Company.

In 1978, Kay met the love of her life, Raymond J. Romstadt, and the two began a marriage filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable adventures. She embraced her expanded family with open arms, welcoming daughters Shelly and Patti as her own. Together, Kay and Ray lived life to the fullest—touring the U.S. and Canada by motorcycle with Ron and June Roth for 27 years! Ray and Kay soaked in the beauty of every moment and celebrated life at every turn.

After retiring in 2010, Kay and Ray split their time between Ohio and their sunny second home in Arizona. There, they both took up golf, and in true Kay fashion, she accomplished what many dream of—not one, but two hole-in-ones! Her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and fierce love for family made her unforgettable.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, James Edwin and Virginia Madeline Willis; her brother, Michael Willis; her sister and brother-in-law, June and Ronald Roth; and her brother-in-law, Robert Lamb.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond J. Romstadt; her beloved children: John Halderman (David), Shelly Krasa (Paul), Julie Brown (Paul), and Patti Leupp (Chris); her treasured grandchildren: Chelsea Davis (JD), Kevin Krasa (Maddy), Jordan Leupp, and Erin Leupp; and her adored great-grandchildren: Baylor, Cooper, Hudson, Hunter, Jettson and baby Kylen arriving in August; her precious sister Joan Lamb, brother in laws, Kenny Romstadt (Janet) and Paul Romstadt (Lonna),
