Earl P. Wolfe

Earl P. Wolfe, age 97, of Oregon, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025. He was born on October 19, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Phillip and Emma (Michelsen) Wolfe. Earl graduated from Lake High School and went on to study education at Bowling Green State University where he ran track. He achieved his master’s degree from Ohio State and taught biology and botany at DeVilbiss and Bowser High Schools. Earl worked for 32 years retiring in 1984. Earl also ran Oregon Taxidermy Art for many years, which a lot of his work is on display at the Toledo Zoo. He was a member of the F&AM Paragon #788.

Earl is survived by his children, David Wolfe, Dan Wolfe, and Dawn Yeager; granddaughter, Alisha Yeager; niece, Rita (Richard) Henzler, nephew, Ed (Kathy) Miller; and close friends and neighbors, Larry and Sharon McCoy. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cindy Wolfe; brother, Marion Wolfe; and sister, Martha Miller.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 11 –12:00 p.m. where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pemberville Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Zoo.
