Edward "MR ED" Emch

Edward Charles Emch, A.K.A. “Mr. Ed” of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the age of 89. He was born on January 21, 1937 in Woodville, Ohio to Alfred and Rita (Mauntler) Emch. Ed was a graduate of Lake High School. He worked as a technician for Western Electric, Ohio Bell, and AT&T, retiring after 33 years of service.

Ed had over 50 years of volunteering for the V.F.W. He was a life member of the Walbridge V.F.W. Post #9963 and Northwood V.F.W. Post #2984 Auxiliaries. He was involved in the “Dads” group and proudly participated on their honor guard teams. Ed was also a life member of the V.F.W. National Home and a member of the F.O.E. in Rossford. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed bowling, and occasionally golfing and fishing with family.

Ed is survived by his grandchildren, Amy (Troy) Adams and Chad Bacon; great-grandchildren, Eric, Macy, and Cali; sister, Karen Lawler; brother, Dave (Linda) Emch; and his special nephews, Ron (Becky) Dudley, and Earl Dudley. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Eileen; significant other, Lori Giffin; stepson and daughter-in-law, Steven and Patricia Bacon; and his brother-in-law, Don Lawler.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 2:00-6:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Private entombment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Walbridge V.F.W. or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
