Edwin E. Jacobs, age 89, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Charter Senior Living. He was born on December 14, 1936 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ed was a 1955 graduate of Central Catholic High School before becoming an iron worker with Local 55. He married the love of his life, Nancy on June 27, 1959 and together they started their family. Ed worked on many jobs over his 42-year career including Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant and the Masonic Auditorium at the Stranahan. He was known as a “Jack of all Trades” and could fix anything. He would jump at the chance to lend a helping hand to anyone with their projects, whether big or small.
In his spare time, Ed enjoyed tinkering with electronics and model airplanes, he even obtained his pilot license. Ed also enjoyed yard work and always made sure he had a well-manicured lawn. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Nancy Jacobs; children, Diane (Lewis Biehle) Jacobs, Connie (Christopher) Croak, Barbara (Jeff) Hager, and Jeff (Shannon) Jacobs; grandchildren, Nathan (Jessica) Croak, Kelsey (Ryan) Eddy, Elizabeth (Timothy) Lemmon, Kenneth (Samantha) Hager, and Ellis Meyer; great-grandchildren, Adley and Rosalee; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Rose and Ben Blazey; father, Walter Jacobs; and sister Shirley Ann Nischwitz.
