Emma Jo West

Emma Jo West passed away peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Perrysburg. Emma was born to Florence and James West on November 17, 1969. A lifelong resident of Oregon, Ohio, she was the baby sister in a large family and a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Emma was a 1988 graduate of Clay High School and held different jobs until she settled into working 24 years at Gladieux Home Center. 

Emma overcame many challenges in life, yet always had that big, beautiful smile to greet you with no matter what. She was a caregiver without complaint, and her love language was the food she cooked for family. Emma was a dedicated lifelong "dog mom". She enjoyed being in nature, listening to rock 'n 'roll, and watching Bob's Burgers with her family. She had a special bond with "Her Cindy". 

Emma is survived by her children, Bobby J. Berlincourt and Samantha Berlincourt; grandchildren, Jesse Berlincourt, James Ryan, and Liam Ryan; father, James West; siblings, Deb (Butch) Connally, Bobby West, Beth (Mike) Short, Cindy (Don) Pettit, Jimmy (Misty) West, and Bryan West; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence West; brothers, Denny and Kenny; and the father of her children, Bobby L. Berlincourt.

The family would like to thank everyone involved in her care at Hospice and to Ron Gladieux and her work family for their thoughts, prayers, and generosity. 

Per Emma's request, she will be cremated. Emma is gone too soon from our lives and will be forever in our hearts. 

A Celebration of Life will be held with a memorial gathering in memory of Emma at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 1 until 3 p.m. For those wishing to send condolences, please consider donations in her honor to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
