Epifanio Avalos

April 6, 1954 — September 14, 2025

Epifanio Avalos Jr., 71, suddenly passed away on 9/14/25 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was born to Epifanio Avalos and Sara C. Avalos in Weslaco, Texas, on 4/6/1954. Later in life, he met Barbara Avalos, his wife. They got married on December 6, 1993, at the courthouse, and they celebrated 33 years of marriage, but they have been together for a total of 40 years. Together, they raised 2 children.

Epifanio Avalos Jr. was a hard worker; he used to work as a migrant worker in the fields with his mom and dad growing up. He loved to travel, but he could never stay in one spot for long. Even with all the travelling he did, he always found himself coming back home. He loved fishing, he also loved his Mexican music and his videos. He and his son would sit for hours listening to their Mexican music together. He absolutely loved his grandbabies; his grandchildren were his life, and he helped raise them! There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them; his grandbabies were a big part of his world. His family was his biggest accomplishment in life! Being able to be there and able to provide and take care of them. His family meant the world to him; it was all that he knew, it was all that he had! He had a funny sense of humor, he loved to tell his jokes, and he was the kind of person who enjoyed making others smile and laugh. He definitely was one of a kind.

Epifanio Avalos Jr. is survived by his children, Jesse Avalos, Tony Avalos, and Tony Jones; grandchildren, Arianna Avalos, Jesse Avalos Jr., Julian Avalos, and Solan Avalos; sisters Eriselda Avalos and Manda Trevino; and brothers Ruben Avalos and Raul Avalos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Epifanio Avalos and Sara C. Avalos; siblings Petra Avalos, Benjamin Avalos, Consuelo Connie Avalos, Linda Avalos, Sarita Avalos, Daniel Avalos, and his youngest son, Angelito Avalos.
