Ernest W. Fodor, age 85, of Port Orange, Florida formerly of Millbury, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born on September 22, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio to Julius and Margaret (Tima) Fodor. Ernie was a 1958 graduate of Waite High School. He worked at Kroger’s as a produce clerk for 30 years, retiring in 2006. Ernie was a talented musician and was a member of the group, “The Three Reasons”. In 1963 they were able to cut a #1 record in the Toledo Area called “Beach Time” which was played on the American Bandstand. He was a lifelong member of Calvin United Church of Christ and was inducted into the Birmingham Hall of Fame. Ernie married his wife, Peggy on September 20, 1980. In his spare time, he enjoyed going on casino trips.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Peggy Fodor; and his sister, Judy (Braxton) Stromel and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Stephen Fodor and siblings, Gene Fodor, Bob Fodor, and Margaret Matyok.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 10-12 p.m. where funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to any animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
