Eugene Anthony Bihn age 77 of Genoa passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 1, 2026. Eugene was born to Lawrence and Olive (Busson) Bihn on May 27, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1966 graduate of Lake High School and earned his Associates Degree from Owens Community College after serving our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. During the war, Eugene served as a combat medic with the 82nd Airborne and earned 2 Bronze Stars. After college, he worked as a line worker for the phone company until his retirement. He served as Union Steward for the IBEW #986. Eugene was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston where he was a member of the church choir. Eugene is a past Post Commander of the VFW Post #7510 in Genoa, Ohio, Cub Scout Master for Pack 310 and Scout Leader for Pack 342, and a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife Amy (Townsend); children Benjamin (Liza) Bihn and Megan Bihn; siblings Larry Bihn, Ann Keeler, Judy Bihn, Rita Bates; best friend Bill Wolf; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, twin brother Jim; brothers Bob, Andy, Milo, Jerry, Ray; sisters Carolyn Bosse and Norma Cuprack.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on Wednesday May 6, 2026 from 2- 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St John Lutheran Church 21140 West Toledo St. Williston, Ohio on Thursday at 11 a.m. where family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Military Honors will be rendered following service. Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. John Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
