Evelyn R. Kline, age 87, resident of Wayne, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, Ohio. She was born on July 12, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Walter and Catherine (Matuzak) Jakubowski.
Evelyn devoted 17 years of her professional life as an inspector at Doehler Jarvis Auto Parts Manufacturing. During her retirement, Evelyn embraced her passions with great enthusiasm. She found joy in ceramics, skillfully creating beautiful pieces, showcasing her creativity and attention to detail. Fishing and camping were cherished activities that allowed her to connect with nature and create lasting memories. Additionally, she loved taking trips to Florida, where she would enjoy the beauty and sunshine.
Her love and kindheartedness will forever be remembered.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Rose (David) Downey, James (Marleen) Kline, and Pam Kline (Mike); daughter-in-law, Lisa Kline; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Pat) Jakubowski.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, William Kline II; infant son, Joseph Kline; sons, William Kline and Richard Kline; and her sisters, Joanne, Barb, and Dorothy.
Family and friends may visit at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm. Following the service, Evelyn will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
