Frederick Nerenberg, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 7, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Arthur Nerenberg Sr. and Marguerite “Marg” (Cross) Metzger.
A proud graduate of Scott High School, class of 1962, Frederick embarked on a career that spanned over 20 years as a truck driver. He worked with notable companies such as Chrysler in Perrysburg, Libbey-Ford in Rossford, and Hyway Trucking in Findlay. His commitment to his work was a testament to his character.
Frederick's life was enriched by the memories he created with his family, particularly during trips to the Lake, East Harbor, and Olander Park. These moments reflected his priority for family. He always looked forward to cooking with his son and creating new dishes that he never tried before. He also relished going out to eat at Red Wells in Toledo, which was one of his favorite spots.
A man of many hobbies, Frederick had a deep passion for motorcycles and fast cars. He had a lifelong obsession with speed, always having a fast car in his possession. He was particularly proud of his Suzuki, which he had owned since 1978, and he enjoyed the thrill of drag racing his Chevelle at the Milan Dragway. Additionally, he found joy in fishing and playing pool, and he was an avid fan of the Cowboys and Rams. His friendships played an important role in his life as well. The moments spent with friends at Hickory Ridge, Mike and Jackie, and special friend, Kelly Wing will be fondly remembered.
As we reflect on the life of Frederick, we remember a family man known for his simplicity and love of life. His presence will be deeply cherished and his memory will live on in the stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving children, Alicia (Ricky) Reynolds, David (Jennifer) Clark, and Frederick Nerenberg Jr.; grandchildren, Michael, Maddy, Greyson, Brandon, Jordyn, Jeremy, Whitney, Hannah, Kenny, Corey; sister, Lynn Weaver and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Clark-Nerenberg; siblings, Dianne Brown, Arthur Nerenberg Jr., and Dorcee Weaver; nephew, Randy Nerenberg; and step-daughter, Jamie Cheeks.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
