Helen L. Kurfis

Helen L. Kurfis, 91, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 surrounded by family.  She was born on January 2, 1931 in Franklin, Tennessee to Herman and Lena Matney.  Helen was a 1949 graduate of Waite High School.  She worked as a claim examiner for the State of Ohio for 15 years, retiring in 1995.  Helen enjoyed playing Euchre, traveling, and watching movies.  She will be dearly missed.

Helen is survived by her children, Marcia Kurfis, Philip (Jill) Kurfis; grandchildren, Sarah Kurfis, Erica (Shawn) Kurfis, and Emily Kurfis.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. where services will be held at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association.
