James Samuel Barney, 62, passed away at Ayden Healthcare of Oregon on June 30, 2024. He was born in Moses Lake, Washington to Lyman K. and Marcielle (Compton) Barney on September 19, 1961. He would go on to have a daughter and later meet his soulmate, Bonnie Lohmeyer. They celebrated many years of love and happiness together before his passing.
James was a lifelong truck driver; he loved driving truck and adored his 18-wheeler Kenworth Truck. He worked for various companies throughout the years including Eagleville Trucking, Guy Trucking, and Wind Gate Trucking remaining active in the industry until his passing. He was a history lover, particularly interested in the history of P.O.W’s and the lost ship, the Edmund Fitzgerald . James loved dogs, especially German Shepherds. He was very supportive of his family, was known to be a jokester, and was stern when he had to be.
James is survived by his soulmate, Bonnie Lohmeyer; step-daughters, Tabitha and Tiffeny Burden; granddaughters, Emily and Destiney Buck; grandsons, Eliseo Benavidez and Zayden Zarvas; father-in-law, Kenneth Lohmeyer; mother-in-law, Hope Lohmeyer; brother-in-law, Kenneth Lohmeyer; sister-in-law, Chris Ann Luman and daughter Brindle. In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Sindale. Arrangements are entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH.
