James B. Dukeshire, age 71, passed away on March 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was deeply passionate about sports, family, and his roots. He proudly served as a baseball coach, softball player, and longtime UAW member. Jim enjoyed hunting, golfing, ice fishing, bowling, and spending time grilling for his family by the pool. A devoted Michigan football fan, his enthusiasm was unmistakable—Go Blue!
Jim’s beloved mother emigrated to the United States from London, England, during World War II, and he remained closely connected to his English family throughout his life. Whether traveling across the pond for visits, welcoming them into his home for summer cookouts, or staying in touch through FaceTime conversations, Jim treasured those relationships deeply.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Dukeshire; his children, Jimmy (Tracy) Dukeshire, Tracy Goodwin and J.R. (Tracy) Rau; and his grandchildren, Nathan Dukeshire, Brieanna Rau, Jeremy (Katie) Rau, and Austin (Jordan) Knighton. He was also a great‑grandfather to five great‑grandchildren. Jim is further survived by his brothers and sisters: Ann (Charles) Hansen, William (Nadine) Dukeshire, Sandra (Larry) Albright, Deborah (Terry) Kidwell, Ellen (Mark) Stoner, and Luann (Ron) Harris, along with many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his loving mother, Lily Dukeshire; his sister, Vickie (Ricky) Watkins; and his nieces, Tonya Sue Hansen and Jennifer Lyn Kidwell.

"My dad was my hero, my mentor, my coach, and my best friend. Through every obstacle I faced, he stood right by my side, encouraging me and believing in me even when I doubted myself. I am the man I am today because of him. I love you always, Pops."
