James David Gioffre Sr., "Motor" age 75, of Oregon passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Perrysburg. James was born to Vincent and Josephine (Kunz) Gioffre in Toledo, Ohio on October 28, 1950. Motor was a graduate of Woodward High School. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Motor met his wife, Wanda, while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and brought her home to Toledo, and they were married at Pearson Park on October 27, 1973. She preceded him in death in 2012. He worked Conrail/CSX Railroad, retiring in 2010 as a yard master. Motor was a member of the VFW #9816 Lake Shore Memorial, where he enjoyed playing cards with friends and singing karaoke. Motor enjoyed get-togethers with friends and family, keno, going to the casino, and traveling to Texas to visit his son and brother.
Motor is survived by his children, Stacy Guerrero and James Gioffre Jr.; brothers Michael (Gaye) Gioffre and David (Ileana) Gioffre; and a host of friends and extended family. Along with his wife, Motor was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
