James Lee Brittson

James Lee Brittson of Oregon, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on June 17th, 2024 in Reading, Michigan. After graduating from Waite High School James went into the U.S. Army. While in the Army he married his high school sweetheart Jeannette, who he called Babs, and had two daughters. James was known to others as Jim or Fuzzy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, relaxing at their cottage, and drinking his Beam and Coke. Jim worked up to retirement. He is a member of the UAW Local 14 and American Legion Post 360 in Reading, Michigan and Post 533 Rossford, Ohio. He was also known to some as Grumpy, but had a huge heart. James and Jeannette were married for 52 years.

James leaves behind his wife Jeannette Brittson; two daughters Jennifer (Brant), and Marci (Jeff); grandchildren, Michael, Carrie (Josh), Leslie (Josh), Alesha, Nickelus; and five great-grandchildren, Harmoni, Haiden, Max, Rylei, and Baby Cowden, and his sister Susan Brittson – Morrin. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Claudette Brittson and brother Mike Brittson.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 2-8:00 p.m. Services will be Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lake Twp Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
