Jeffrey Alan Way, age 74, of Oregon, OH, passed away suddenly at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center on Friday, January 26, 2024. He was born in Columbus, OH to Albert and Mary Ann (Schmidt) Way on January 24, 1950. Jeffrey served in the US Marine Corps attaining the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, a Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct Medal, and Rifle Marksman Badge. He retired from the US Postal Service after 36 years of service as a letter carrier, spending the majority of his career at Station A in East Toledo. After retirement, he worked at Eagle’s Landing Golf Club tending to sand traps and general maintenance activities. When not at work, he could be found enjoying a nap in his chair. Jeffrey loved golfing, camping at Hidden Lake Resort, gardening, and watching the Cleveland Browns. However, his greatest joy was cooking and spending time with his family, who he loved dearly.
Jeffrey leaves behind his loving wife, Kathryn; his children, Jason (Amy), Lauren (Angel), Ryan (Erin), Anthony (Kristen); his grandchildren, Jared, Kyan, Darin, Aubrey, Madison, Johanna, Nora, Lila, and Arya; his siblings, Kathy, Diana (Mark), Chris (Teresa), Steve, Tom (Kathy), and Robert (Jewel); his mother-in-law, Edythe Pocse; his beloved dog, Baker; and many extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Ann.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation online at www.t2t.org
