John Thomas Brewer

John Thomas Brewer, age 86, of Toledo, OH, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. He was born in Lawrenceburg, TN to George and Audie (Collier) Brewer on January 2, 1940. John attended Clay High School and went on to work for 40 years at the General Motors Hydramatic plant on Alexis Road. John married Marie Faust at age 19, and they shared 64 years of marriage until her passing in 2023. John was fortunate to find love again and married Lori (Pierce, née Johnson) in 2025. He was a member of Living Word Baptist Church on Seaman Road in Oregon and was recently baptized there. In retirement, one of his greatest joys was Cowboy Action Shooting, where he was known by the alias ‘No Name’ and was a longtime member of the Sandusky County Sportsmen’s Club in Gibsonburg, OH.

John is survived by his wife, Lori; his children, Daniel and Wendy (Dusty); his grandchildren, Jason, Noel, Rachel (Caleb), Aaron (Leah), Brandon (Amanda), and Mitchell; his great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Dominic, Gaius, Diana, and Stanley; as well as his stepchildren, John (Erica) and Taylor (Ashleigh); and step-grandchildren, Nicholas, Declan, and Theodore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; his son, Brian; his sisters, Margaret and Eva; and his parents, George and Audie.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road in Oregon, OH on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 2:00–8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the chapel on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
