John M. Shaffer, age 74, of Perrysburg, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 5, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. John was born on July 30, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio to Omer and Marcella (Smalley) Shaffer. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was jack of all trades; a mechanic, truck driver, he owned and operated Christian Mobile Home Services and retired as a maintenance supervisor at Flying J. John was a devoted Christian and enjoyed studying the bible. He was a hardworking, selfless and giving man, who would help anyone in need. John was also a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was always there with a listening ear and great advice.
John loved to spend time with his wife and children, especially his grandkids. He was often found listening to gospel, country and a little bit of rock n’ roll. John enjoyed fishing, gun collecting, and creating content on Tik Tok. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
John is survived by the love of his life, “Sugar”, wife of 52 years, Caroline; children, Christa Johnson, Marcella (Kevin) Jeffries, John (Jamie) Shaffer Jr., and Christina (Ray) Wyman; 12 grandchildren, Marcos (Maria) Johnson, Ashley (Michael) Cooper, Hailey Hame, Anthony (Kirsten) Hame, Sydney (DJ) Rolf, Michael Shaffer, Brittany Shaffer, Alexis Shaffer, Sariah Shaffer, Serenity Shaffer, John Shaffer III, and Mya Shaffer; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine siblings.
