Joseph "Jay" Hornyak III

Joseph “Jay” Hornyak III, age 63, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio to Carol A. (Paulsen) and Joseph G. Hornyak Jr. Jay was a 1980 graduate of Genoa High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked many years in Masonry Construction and was a handyman who loved to learn new things by reading and teaching his family and friends. Jay was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping, and cooking. He will be dearly missed by his family.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Charlette Hornyak; parents, Joseph and Carol A. Hornyak; siblings, Cyndi Hornyak, and Tim (Mindy) Hornyak and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Cody Hornyak and brother, Scott Hornyak.

Private services will be held for his family. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
