Joseph “Joe” Richard Wohlgamuth, age 64, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was born and raised in Toledo, on the Eastside.
Joe attended Waite High School. In his earlier years, Joe was passionate about dirt track racing. He shared many memorable moments with his brother, in a proud achievement when he won the track championship in the street stock division in 1994, just his third season racing.
Beyond racing, Joe had a deep appreciation for life and its simple pleasures. He found joy in riding his motorcycles, where the open road allowed him to embrace the freedom he cherished so dearly. He also enjoyed bird watching, which offered him a unique connection to nature, providing peace and tranquility in his daily life.
A dedicated craftsman in the field of home improvement, Joe spent his life honing his skills in siding, windows, doors, gutters, and metal roofing. He took immense pride in his work, and his attention to detail earned him trust and respect. Known as a trusted jack of all trades, Joe could often be found working on his vehicles, displaying his enthusiasm for mechanics and old cars, which brought him endless satisfaction.
Grilling while enjoying a cold beverage was another way Joe loved to unwind, as he welcomed friends and family into his home, sharing companionship and laughter around the grill.
Joe married his wife, Vickie Beaufait on January 21, 1983. He and his family moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where 3 of his 4 daughters were born. He lived there for 16 years before returning to the Eastside to be close to family and had his fourth daughter. Being around family, especially the grandchildren, meant everything to Joe. Family was most important to him and the memories that were created. Not only was family important, but the dogs that were in his life throughout the years as well, most recently, Macie “Mae-Mae” being his recent girl, that never left his side.
Joe always lived his best life and lived it to the fullest. He was a trustworthy friend and would always lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His smile, love, and memories will live on in those who were lucky to have him in their lives. This isn’t goodbye, but we will see you again…
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Vickie (Beaufait) Wohlgamuth; daughters, Stephanie (Richie) Noonan, Jessica (Joshua) Limpf, Ashley (Justice) Avornu, Emily (Ricky Madden Jr.) Wohlgamuth; grandchildren, Patryck, Malachi, Richard, Kalob, Kassidy, Araya, Aubrie, and Zendaya; siblings, Cheryl (Dave) Rajner, Michael (Toni) Wohlgamuth, Kristin Wohlgamuth, and Lisa (Al) Rajner; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and all of his motorcycle friends.
