Juan "Johnny" Perez Delgado

Juan Delgado, age 71, of Northwood, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at home surrounded by family. He was born on September 16, 1954 in Raymondville, Texas to Gilbert and Paula Delgado.

Johnny was a 1974 graduate of Spencer-Sharples High School where he ran track, setting school records in High Hurdles and the Long Jump. He worked as a tile setter for many years with the Local #23, retiring from Trendell Tile.

Johnny enjoyed playing sports, especially softball with the Home Boys and bowling. He loved watching his grandkids sporting events and dance recitals. Johnny was an avid Detroit Tiger’s fan, Dallas Cowboys football fan and University of Michigan football and basketball fan. In his spare time, Johnny was often found fishing, boating or working in his garden. He will be dearly missed.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Shannon; his children, John Delgado Jr., Ignacio (Rene) Delgado, Julian (Tara) Delgado, Ruben (Katie) Delgado, Jeremy Curtis, and Kennedy (Daniel) Lara; 15 grandchildren; and his siblings, Francis Bernal, Connie (Michael) Benavidez, Roy (Kim) Delgado, Yolanda (Danny) Moraga, and Freddie (Rosalinda) Delgado. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Gilbert, Lupe, and Venus.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
