Julie Owczarzak "Gigi" age 60 of Toledo, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at Mercy St. Anne Hospital. Julie was a 1983 graduate and went on to earn her Associate's Degree from Owens Community College, studying Computer Programming, specializing in COBOL design. Julie married the love of her life, Mark, on June 14, 1985, at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. She worked for the City of Toledo, retiring in February of this year as an Administrative Specialist with the Public Utilities Department.
Julie was a beloved wife, mom, and Gigi who loved to take care of people. In her early years, she was active in the Girl Scouts as a scout leader and was always a favorite of the children in her life. Julie loved planning get-togethers and parties.
Julie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mark; children Kayla (Geoffrey) Brittson, Ashley Hollman, and Andrew Hollman; grandson Marshall Hollman; brother; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, Becky, Brenda, and Diane. She was preceded in death by her parents, Janice and James Hollman, and siblings Jamie Hollman and Beth Hollman.
Visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 5 until 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 3233 Lagrange St in Toledo on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11 a.m., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions are appreciated to the Girl Scouts c/o the United Way.
