Karen Sue Wilhelm-Sibbersen

Karen Sue Wilhelm-Sibbersen age 73 of Toledo passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Karen was born to Francis (Gus) and Harriet (Bee) Sibbersen on March 16, 1949. Karen grew up in Ironville and graduated from Clay High School. She worked as a Sous Chef starting at the Lutheran Home before hiring on at Maumee State Park where she ran the lines for Water’s Edge Restaurant and the Banquet Center for over 20 years until her retirement. Karen loved to cook. Her family was the center of her world and she enjoyed family game night, especially Skip-Bo and Backgammon. She was an animal lover and always had cats and dogs. Karen also liked music and watching daytime television and nostalgic movies.

Karen is survived by her grandchildren Michael, Miranda, Josh, Jamie, Chrystal, and Chelsea; niece and nephews Kelly, Dennis, Jimmy, and Michael; great-grandchildren Jaxen, Jilliana, Josiah, Mattiana, and Bentley; sister-in-law Donna Sibbersen and Aunt Judy Bee. She was preceded in death by her son Doug Wilhelm, Daughter Shawna Garcia, parents, brother James Sibbersen, and an infant sister Leslie Sibbersen.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Freck Funeral Chapel from 1 until 3 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to family.
