With a heavy heart and great sadness, we announce the passing of our cherished Mother, Grandmother Kathryn (Heckler) Latimore, “Gigi,” of East Toledo Ohio.
“Gigi” went to be with “Pa” in the early evening of February 9th surrounded by her loving family and dear friends. Kathi was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 22nd, 1942, raised by her paternal grandparents Daddy Ted and Mama Nell Eleston. Raised on Woodville Road in East Toledo. “Gigi “met the love of her life Larry Latimore in 1958; they were next door neighbors.” Gigi”, being a car girl would sit in Larry’s garage while he worked on Hot Rods and kept him company while he tinkered. They fell in love and were married on October 13th, 1959. After 51 years of marriage on their Anniversary Larry passed. He was waiting at Heaven’s Gate for her arrival, together again. Kathi enjoyed going to the sprint car races with their dear friends Jerry and Judy Nemire go “Sweet 16”, car shows and camping in their Travco motorhome with Bev and Arnie Litten in their Bus. Kathi worked at a handful of jobs in her earlier years; her true trade was being a seamstress at The Sawing Bea for many years on Lagrange Street in Toledo.
The union of Larry and Kathi produced two children, Son Craig T Latimore (Hope) and daughter Jami (Fred) Lozano granddaughter Toni Lozano. Preceded in death by her husband Larry, Parents, Grandparents, Siblings Bev Litten and Nancy Lee Fox and brother P G Heckler.
Special thanks to cherished friends Judy Nemire and Cheryl Palen, whose love and support meant to the world to our family during one of the hardest times of our lives.
Funeral services for Kathi will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with services to begin at 12 noon at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 South Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43606. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held afterward at The Spaghetti Warehouse, 42 South Superior Street, Toledo, Ohio 43604. Memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
