Kenneth Carl Brown, age 93 of Oregon, Ohio, passed away at the Gardens of St. Francis with his daughters by his side on Friday, March 6, 2026. Ken was born to Jesse and Beatrice (Skiver) Brown at home in Oregon, Ohio, on July 26, 1932. He was a 1951 graduate of Clay High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a Petty Officer 2. He was appointed to the USS Midway as a hospital corpsman and traveled the world. After his time of service, Ken returned home and worked as an instrument specialist with Toledo Edison and married the love of his life, Drusilla "Dru" (Rossler). When his father retired, Ken took over the family's bus business. Ken took a position with the City of Oregon in Zoning and Nuisance and later with the Water Department before retiring in 1995. Ken and Dru were blessed with 67 years of marriage until her passing in 2024. Ken was a hard worker with a great work ethic who always put his family first. He was a devoted husband, father, and Poppy. In his retirement, he enjoyed watching Notre Dame football and the Cleveland Indians/Guardians, could be found riding his tractor mowing the lawn, or playing a friendly game of euchre. Ken and Dru spent many retirement years traveling to their home in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Ken enjoyed the variety of golf courses in the area, always looking for a repeat of his hole-in-one. He also found many long-lasting friendships while participating in a monthly stock club.
Ken is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Michael) Brown and Nadine (J.R.) VanCamp; grandchildren, Jennifer (Derrick) Sanchez, Zachary (Kara) VanCamp, and Erin (Robert) Fox; and great-grandchildren, Brady, Ian, Preston Sanchez, Millie Grace VanCamp, and Dru James Fox. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dru, daughter Denise, and sister Helen Donnell.
