Kenneth “Ken” Brown, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Center. He was born on October 4, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio to Howard and Rose (Komives) Brown. Ken attended Central Catholic High School from 1947-1950. Immediately after high school, Kenneth worked at LOF for a short period prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force. Kenneth was a Korean War Veteran and served for Four years in the Air Force based in London, England.
After serving our country Kenneth returned to work at LOF until 1961 when he went to work for Cardinal Stritch High School as the building and grounds maintenance manager. He worked at Cardinal Stritch for eight years prior to going to work for John Packo’s Parkcrest Banquet Hall.
In the early 1970’s Kenneth started his own residential construction company named Ken Brown & Sons. His company completed quality residential home improvement projects. In his later years, Kenneth worked in maintenance at Bowling Green State University where he retired in 1998.
Kenneth was actively engaged in his children’s lives taking them camping, fishing, and to a variety of sporting events. He was a CYO basketball coach for many years for St. Thomas Aquinas schools. He also enjoyed spending time on Lake Erie fishing on his 1970 wooden Lyman boat.
Kenneth was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and Christ Dunberger American Legion Post #537. He served on the color guard performing military honors for veterans for many years.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Robert Brown, Karen (Mark) Morrison, Kenneth (Cyndi) Brown, Ron Brown, and Sharon (Denny) Meyer; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Doris (Cumbie) Brown who passed in 2001, and his second wife, Thelma (Nowak) Brown in 2023.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 3-8:00 p.m. where legion services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be private for the family. Burial will take place at Clay Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to 419 Cares c/o Christ United Methodist Church or Christ Dunberger American Legion Post #537.
