Lester James Baumer

Lester James Baumer, age 76, of Oregon, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Lester was born to Robert and Florence (Demaska) Baumer in Toledo, Ohio, on November 15, 1949. Lester was a 1967 graduate of Clay High School and served our country in the U.S. Army. Lester was self-employed and owned several businesses in his lifetime, including Definite Difference Hair Salon in Northwood. Lester was a much-loved hairstylist for over 50 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed travelling, camping, and gardening his tomatoes. His favorite times included Pina Coladas and the beach. He was so happy to become a grandfather and enjoyed going to his grandchildren's concerts and sporting events. Lester even served as the band president again at Clay as a grandparent, repeating a beloved role he held as a father. As he and his wife Joyce grew older, they became very active at the East Toledo Senior Center and the Eastern YMCA.

Lester is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Jennifer (Joe) Davis; daughter-in-law, Lisa Baumer; grandchildren, Trenton, Megan, Jordan (Josh) Young, and Hayley; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Sophia Young; brother, Raymond (Cathy) Baumer; and sister, Dee (Bruce) King. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry J. Baumer, and his parents.
