Lois Louise Blair, age 91, of Northwood, passed away peacefully at the Gardens of St. Francis on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Lois was born to Lawrence and Frances (Grosjean) Koenig on March 19, 1935, in Northwood, Ohio. She grew up on her family's farm in Northwood and was a graduate of Olney High School. Lois married John Blair at St. Louis Catholic Church in 1954. While John served our country in the U.S. Navy, Lois was a devoted "Navy Wife," caring for their children in Virginia Beach while he was out to sea. When John retired, they made their way back home to Ohio and were longtime members of St. Jerome Catholic Church, active in all church activities, especially the annual festival. John and Lois enjoyed 49 years of marriage until his passing in 2004. Navigating her new chapter without John, Lois grew in her independence, spending time going on bus trips, gardening, volunteering, and caring for her family.
Lois is survived by her children, Pat Stacey, Debbie (Jeff) Smith, Jim (Bonnie) Blair, Sandy (Ken) Miner, and Cindy (Jason) Zilles; grandchildren, Michele (Terry), Melissa (Nick), Heather, John (Jayme), Jay (Marisa), Jason (Jennifer), Jennifer (Tom), Kristin (Tyler), Katlyn (Doug), Jacob, and Brady; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Destiny, Elli, Isabella, Lydia, James, Stoy, David, Grayson, Stella, and Baby Bean; great great-granddaughter, Kassi; and brother Merle Koenig. Along with her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Donald, Joseph, and Shirley Koenig.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4 until 8 p.m., where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., in Walbridge on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to Heartland Hospice or The Parkinson's Foundation.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Gardens of St. Francis and Heartland Hospice, especially the care given by Janet Obee.
