Lois Ann (Mitchell) DeSelms

Lois Ann (Mitchell) DeSelms, age 85, resident of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was born on April 14, 1940, in Jerry City, Ohio, to the late Charles and Ida A. (Cockley) Mitchell.

She graduated from Bowling Green High School, class of 1958. Lois enjoyed a commendable career as an optician, where she worked many years at both Sears Optical and Lanes Drug Store. Retiring in 2011, she was able to spend more time doing the things she loved, which was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she loved creating memories with them that would last a lifetime. Her love for bowling was a delight to many as she spent countless hours enjoying the sport. She also found joy in trips to the casino. Lois also had a special love for angels, cherishing their symbolism of hope and guidance throughout her life. Lois will truly be missed by all who knew her. This isn’t goodbye, but we will see you again…

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Leah DeSelms, Kenneth (Rhonda) DeSelms, and James “Jim” (Holly) DeSelms; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; special friends, Patricia Pollard and Joe and Ann Zielinski; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Gerald DeSelms; daughter, Judy Steedman; and brother, John Mitchell.

Family and friends may visit at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road Oregon, Ohio, 43616, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
