In Loving Memory of Lowell Nutter
Lowell Nutter passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years young— forever quick with a smile and always ready with a good-natured tease, whether with loved ones or complete strangers.
Born and raised in Upstate New York, Lowell was the son of Beulah and Raymond Nutter. He took great pride in a life built on hard work, beginning his first job at the age of four, raising chickens and selling eggs. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he embarked on a successful career in electrical engineering. Lowell worked with Sine, Bendix, and Amphenol in New York and Michigan, and later with Array Connectors in Florida. Within the aerospace industry, he earned a reputation as "the guy"— the expert behind many of the electrical specifications still used today.
Above all, Lowell cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 34 years, Winona Nutter. Those who knew him best will fondly remember the joyful banter between Lowell and Winona as they worked together around the house and in the garden.
Lowell was a beloved father to Jeff Nutter (Cheryl), Michelle LaRose (Scott), Heidi Lovaas (Steve), and the late Karen Nutter, and a loving father to Alex Maziarz (Angela), Lindsay Maziarz, and Fawn Gruetter. He was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many.
He is lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Near and dear to his heart was his niece Jennifer, whose kindness and care meant so much to him.
A longtime member of Living Word Baptist Church in Oregon, Lowell's life will be honored with a memorial service at the church on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
Lowell's humor, warmth, and unwavering work ethic leave behind a legacy of love and laughter that will never be forgotten.
