Madison Marie Katschke

Madison Marie Katschke, age 17, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her parents and family on Friday, September 25, 2026, at ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital. Madison was born on May 26, 2009, in Oregon, Ohio, to Anthony and Lindsay Katschke. Madison was a Junior at Clay High School.

Madison loved spending time with her family, whether she was cheering on her brother and sister at their sporting events or simply enjoying watching the birds from her sunroom. She especially loved the holidays- the lights, the decorations, and all the excitement that came with making everything feel festive and special. Her presence was always known and deeply felt.

Madison was a fighter her entire life. Born with Aicardi Syndrome and facing challenges from the very beginning, she never let anything stand in the way of her living her life. She was truly unstoppable.

Traveling with her family created many cherished memories, including trips to Florida where they enjoyed time at Disney World and the beach, a memorable visit to Niagara Falls, and many camping trips where she loved sitting by the campfire. Madison also treasured taking walks with her mom and dad at Maumee Bay, making memories that her family will hold close to their hearts.Madison is survived by her parents, Anthony and Lindsay; brother, Brody; sister, Aubree; grandparents, Michael and Denise Widner, Terrence and Carol Katschke; and great-grandmother Dora Mira; aunts and uncles, Erin (Matthew) Spidare, David (Stephanie) Widner, Michael (Jesse) Katschke, Matthew (Amanda) Katschke, and Julie (Tyler) Ault; cousins, Jonathon, Bradley, Alexandria, Olivia, Mikaeli (Gage), Kelsie, Bella, Dominic, Jake, Cami, Parker, Teddy, and Jameson; beloved nurse, Glenda and devoted teacher, Kirsten.A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd, in Oregon, Ohio, on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 5, 2026, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., in Oregon, at 10:30 a.m., where a visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
