Marilyn L. Hanthorn, 91, of Oregon, OH, passed away peacefully November 6, 2021 surrounded by her family at home. She was born August 22, 1930 in Toledo, OH to Wade and Lola (Gephart) Campbell. Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of Waite High School. She married the love of her life, Charles Hanthorn on August 4, 1948 and they were married for 59 years. Marilyn was employed by Toledo Trust/Society/Key Bank for 36 years. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gertrude/Woodbine Chapter. Marilyn enjoyed travelling, bowling, lunches with her friends and time spent with her family.
Marilyn leaves behind her children, Jeffrey (Susan) Hanthorn, and Vicki (James) Moore; her grandchildren, Holly (Tim) Grimes, Leslie (Braden) Ruch, Sara (Neil) White, Alissa (Nate) Free, Adam (Helena) Grimes, and Colin (Tysha Rider) Grimes; her great-grandchildren, Avery Grimes, Bryce Ruch, Caleb Ruch, Paige Ruch, and Jax Free; her sister, Nancy Myers; and her sister-in-laws, Vel Campbell and Violet Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; her brothers, Ernest Campbell and Charles Campbell; and her sister, Alice Masney.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Ohio Living Health and Hospice.
