Marion VanSlambrouck passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017, at the age of 91, at Aspen Grove Assistant Living in Lambertville, MI. where she had been a resident for the last 10 months. Marion was born in Monroe, MI. on June 2, 1926 to Grace and Ernest Stoddard. She was the oldest of six children. Marion married the late Robert VanSlambrouck and they had 3 children.
She is survived by children, Daniel (Patricia), Sharon Poore and Susan (Paul) Padot, 4 grandchildren, Carlee (Ryan) McClurg, Kyle (Angie Mitchell) Padot, Jennifer (Ryan) Stershic and Casey Poore, 2 great-grandchildren, Kai Poore and Keegan Stershic and her brothers, Dave (Sandy) Stoddard and Carl (Marge) Stoddard. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert and sisters, Margaret Allore, Virginia Schulz and Grace Roe.
Marion spent her whole life in Monroe and worked for many years at the Holiday Inn. She enjoyed taking care of her family and had a great love for animals. Marion was a parishioner of St. Anne’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed.
Arrangements are being handled by Freck Funeral Chapel. Funeral will be private at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Choice.
