Mark A. Keller, 62, of Oregon, OH, passed away suddenly on August 15, 2024, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Mark was born on October 21, 1961, to Wayne and Gladys Keller in Oregon, OH. Mark was currently serving as a paramedic for the Oregon Fire Department. He has served as a Lucas County and Oregon Fire paramedic for over 24 years. Before that, he served four years as a volunteer EMT/Firefighter for the Oregon Fire Department and worked as a Camera Repair Technician at Jim’s Camera Shop in Toledo. Mark proudly served in the United States Army from 1980 to 1984. As a Mason, he served as Past Master of Paragon Masonic Lodge.
Mark was a kind, giving person who would do anything for anyone. He loved being a dad and was always there for his kids. Mark was a scoutmaster for many years. He was always up for a good adventure, a ride on his Harley, and loved running. He was a member of the Toledo Roadrunners. He also found time to woodwork, follow his 49ers and Buckeyes, and spend time with his beloved dogs, Marley and Izzy. Mark was determined to live his life to the fullest.
Mark is survived by his children, Benjamin and Carrie Keller; his partner, Cristina Whitmore; her daughters Meghan and Marisella (Anthony); Cristina’s extensive family; his brother, John (Sarah) Keller; his sister, Gail McCawley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, and Cristina’s father Eleno Duran.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on August 19, 2024, from 2 until 8 p.m. where Masonic and Firefighter Services will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church 212 N. Stadium Rd. in Oregon on Tuesday at 11 a.m., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Toledo Roadrunners or the Oregon Fire and Rescue Department.
