Mary Kay Garcia

Mary Kay Garcia, 68, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2025. She was born to Frank J. Killian and Helen Kay Killian (Steele) in Toledo, Ohio on September 26, 1956. She would go on to graduate from Waite High School where she met her future husband, Tony Garcia. They would be married for 50 years and raised 2 children together.

May Kay was a daycare teacher at Tiny Treasures as well as Village Early Childhood Center in Genoa until retirement. She loved her family and friends dearly and loved getting everyone together. She also loved making jewelry and gifting it to make others smile. She loved music and dancing to it, especially to the blues and Motown. She had a heart for all animals and there wasn’t an animal she didn’t love. She was truly one-of-a-kind, outgoing with a funky style and a unique sense of humor with her own lingo. She could make friends with anybody.

Mary Kay is survived by her loving husband, Tony Garcia Sr; children Anthony (Kristiana) Garcia Jr., Andrew E. (Janet) Garcia, Tracie (Randy) Binion; grandchildren Robert Zepeda II, Christina Brown, Abbigail Jackson, Alina Garcia, Vivica Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Ava Garcia, and Isaiah Garcia; sisters Susan (Raymond) Ricks and LeeAnn (Robert) Henning. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David E. Killian.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, Ohio, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. where a memorial service will be held beginning at 2: 00 p.m. Donations can be made in her name to the Lucas County Humane Society.
