Mary McAninch

Mary McAninch, age 98, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Orchard Villa. She was born on January 16, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to Paul and Anna Kalloger. Mary was a graduate of Waite High School. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary worked for over 30 years at Pete’s Hot Dog, retiring at the age of 73.

Mary was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She lived at Fountain Square in Oregon for 25 years. She made a lot of friends over the years. Mary wanted her friends to know that they were very good to her. She loves her sons and wants the best for everyone. She loves them all.

Mary is survived by her sons, Butch (Karyl) McAninch, and Steve McAninch; grandchildren, Rayonna Delaflora, Ashely McAninch, Lindsey McAninch, Mareen McAninch, Charlee McAninch, and Michael McAninch; six great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Tim; sisters, Fritzie, Irene, Bessie, and Catherine; and her daughter-in-law, Andrea.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 12-2:00 p.m. where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Elara Caring Hospice.
