Mary “Mickey” Bockbrader, age 94, of Elmore, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born on February 17, 1929 in Elmore, Ohio to Harold and Marie Croll. Mickey was a 1947 graduate of Harris-Elmore High School. She was married to Thomas Bockbrader from 1951 until his passing in 2017. Together they raised their four children. Mickey ran a paint and wallpapering business for many years with her friend, Evelyn Martin, called the Cover Girls. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church in Elmore, OH where she volunteered for many church events. Mickey spent her winter months in Haines City, Florida and in her spare time enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and painting.
Mickey is survived by her children, Scott (LuAnn) Bockbrader, Julie (Brad) Hemminger, and Paul Bockbrader; and grandchildren, Andrew Hemminger, Emily (Vanessa) Hemminger and Nicole (Zach) Tuggle. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark; husband, Thomas; and siblings, Ray, Jim, and Tom.
There will be a public graveside service at the Elliston Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th. A celebration of Mickey’s life is set to take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church in Elmore. In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to please be sent to either ProMedica Ebeid Hospice or St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church in Elmore.
