Melissa L. McCloskey

Melissa L. McCloskey, age 52, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born to Gerald and Joan (Polster) McCloskey of Walbridge, Ohio on July 31, 1973. She would go on to graduate from Cardinal Stritch High School in 1991. After graduation, she completed the program in Cosmetology from the Toledo Academy of Beauty School.

She chose Walbridge as her lifelong residence, providing a sense of belonging and community. There she raised her only child, Kaden. Melissa always surrounded herself with the companionship of cats who she loved and cherished.

In her early years of employment as a hairstylist, she was able to build not only clients, but friendships. Melissa was a compassionate, selfless and empathetic person with a big heart. She always lived life with simplicity, focusing on the needs of others. She was a life long member of St. Jerome Parish, offering her support during the Lenten Fish Fry’s.

Melissa is survived by her only child Kaden,sister in law Nancy McCloskey, brothers Patrick (Lisa) McCloskey, Kevin (Kathy) McCloskey, Brian (Andrea) McCloskey, sisters Jennifer Kiss and Jaqueline McCloskey. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Michelle McCloskey, her parents Gerald and Joan McCloskey, brother in law Joseph W Kiss, brother Michael McCloskey and nephew Eric McCloskey.

The family wishes to express gratitude for the support of Melissa’s long time friend Mike McCluskey, Raeann at Sincera, and the nursing staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

A visitation will be held at St. Jerome Church Friday January 23, 2026 from 9:30am-11:00am with a celebration of life service following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
