Michael Jay O’Hara, 69, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born in Toledo on May 27, 1948 to Earl G. and Edna F. (Pratt) O’Hara, Sr. Affectionately known as “Mr. Mike” throughout the community, he honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam receiving a Purple Heart. He worked as a maintenance man for various apartment complexes and also as a factory worker for Textile Leather. He enjoyed country and western music and old time TV programs.
He is survived by his children, Becky O’Hara and Gabriel (Mona) O’Hara; seven grandchildren; siblings, Earl (Jen) O’Hara, Jr., Barb (Jim) Wolniewicz and Mel (Luann) O’Hara; sister-in-law, Barb O’Hara and special friend, Charline Gray. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy O’Hara; sister, Elizabeth Perry and brother, Robert O’Hara.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. with the Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
