As we travel back to N.Y., we are aware that our direction may change with a phone call as we await aloved one’s passing. I’m grateful to know a God who can guide us throught this, and more importantly, guide Ann’s brother to His waiting arms.
We spoke with Mike about God, and he responded with a smile and said, “I already took care of that; and he continued to smile, so we await his entrance into paradise. With that said, God put the old hymn ‘Just a Closer Walk with Thee’ on my mind, and I would Like to share some of the words to this song. This part here is my desire, and I hope it’s yours: as well..
Just a closer walk with Thee, grant it Jesus, is my plea. Daily walking close to Thee, let it be, dear Lord, let it be.’
So…Let’s let that be….
All of our desires!!!
I love the words of that song!
You know there is a reward for those who are on that walk; the next part of the song elaborates on it. Here we go:’
When my feeble life is o’er, time for me will be no more. Guide me gently, safely o’er to Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.’
When I asked if Mike knows Jesus, he responded with a warm, genuine smile and a nodding head, giving me confidence that he will be guided toward a brighter future, one that embodies the peace and tranquillity spoken of in this song.
Father, we believe you will guide him gently and safely to your kingdom shore, as this beautiful hymn talks about. Thank you, Jesus, for paying the way in.
You know God will also guide us in this life if you let Him. Psalms 32:8
The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you’.
If you know God, you’ve got the best guide ever; if you don’t know Him, you can…
