Pamela Marie Barabash (née Poston), of Oregon, Ohio, was born on April 7, 1949, to Agnes Evelyn (Lammers) Olszewski-Poston. She passed away on April 30, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest, Ohio - surrounded by her family.
Pam graduated from Woodward High School in 1968 and went on to build a life centred around family, dedication, and quiet strength. She worked for many years at Toledo Hospital, where she was known for her commitment and reliability.
On October 4, 1974, Pam married the love of her life, David Martin Barabash. Together they shared more than 51 years of marriage. David, who affectionately called her “Pammy,” was fiercely protective of “his Pamela,” and their bond was a constant throughout their life together.
Pam was known for her strong will and deep devotion to her family. She believed in taking care of the people she loved in the ways that mattered most. When her children were young, they never left the house without their clothes pressed—a standard Pam instilled in them, one that her son Jasen carried with him into adulthood, even ironing his jeans. Pam loved to cook for her family, especially her homemade spaghetti, fried chicken and lasagna, and was often made side by side with her husband David.
Family was at the center of everything for Pam. She treasured time with her grandchildren and especially looked forward to visits with her daughter Stacie and her grandsons. Those moments were among the ones she held most dear. She had a deep love and for all three of her grand children who knew her as “Nana”. Nana was often known to take their side and spoil each of them uniquely.
She also had her own steadfast rules—among them, never running out of Vernors, which she considered nothing short of a household emergency.
Pam was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, David Barabash; her children, Jasen (Nina) Barabash of Bowling Green, Ohio and Stacie (Adam) Knight of Winchester, California; and her cherished grandchildren, Adam Knight Jr., Trevor Knight, and Addison Vaughan. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Scott; her brother, Darrell Poston; her dear friend, Georgia Bouldes, who held a special place in her life as godmother to Jasen; her nephew, Donald Scott, godfather to Stacie; her nieces Jill Johnson, Tracy Scott, Amy (Scott) Andrews, and Wendy (Joe) Mineff; as well as many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Pam was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Evelyn (Lammers) Olszewski-Poston; her sister, Patricia A. Farkas; her father-in-law, Walter Barabash; her mother-in-law, Natalie Barabash; her sister-in-law, Marianne Barabash; and her brothers-in-law, Donald Scott; brother-in-law Bill Farkas; brother-in-law, John Barabash.
Pam will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and the many ways she quietly cared for those she loved.
