Pastor James Glenn Fleming age 86 of Clay Center, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Thursday, May 29, 2025. James was the 1st born triplet to John Glenn and Octavia (Halbert) Fleming in Hellier, KY on July 8, 1938. James married Barbara (Hensley) on May 28, 1965, she preceded him in death on January 2, 2020. James was a conductor with CSX Railroad from 1960-1991. James and his beloved wife were called to the ministry and served together with praise and joy for over 50 years. He enjoyed taking many mission trips over the years to Jamaica. In his free time, James enjoyed reading and studying God’s word and taking his beloved dog for rides in the car. His life was filled with a Testimony of His Love for Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his children Thomas (Rachel) Fleming, Christopher (Lori) Fleming, Rebecca Kekes, and twins Cheryl (Dar) Faroughi and Carol (Thomas) McGeorge; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren who always had a special place in his heart and brought a smile to his face; siblings 3rd triplet Rosemary (Ron) Wyant, Ferne (Paul) Baxter, John David (Ruth) Fleming, best friend JD Massengill; sisters-in-law Frances “Tootsie” (Danny) Longsworth, Cindy Hensley and Reda Fleming along with many nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mabel, Alice, Betty, Nettie, 3rd triplet Vivian, Sybil, Hazel, Herschel, Ralph, Ted, Paul, Joyce, Jan, Don, Robert, and Judy.
Visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 3 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Clay Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to Ohio Living Hospice.
