Paul E. Hullinger, age 82, of Northwood, Ohio, lost his battle with dementia on June 20, 2026. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on April 24, 1944, to the late Paul Hullinger and Anita (Schlegel) Lyzan.
Paul graduated from Macomber High School. He worked at BP Refinery, where he retired after 30 years of service.
Paul was an avid runner and ran many marathons, including Toledo, Boston, and Nanisivik NWT. Paul and his wife, Darla, loved to travel and visited many countries overseas. He also enjoyed woodworking, as seen by the many birdhouses in the yard.
Those left to cherish her memory are his loving wife, Darla (Juhnke) Hullinger, whom he married on August 31,1963; their children, Susan, Paul Jr., Patty (Bill) and Brian (Bobby); granddaughters, Ashleigh (Chad) and Brittany. He was also blessed with six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank (Laurie) Hullinger and Jim Hullinger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the man that raised him, Theodore Lyzan; sister, Linda Rayburn; and brother, Bob Hullinger.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at The Landings of Oregon, along withHeartland Hospice, for their care and support they provided to Paul and his family the past 2 ½ years.
A private family service will take place to honor and celebrate Paul. For those wishing to send condolences, please consider donations in his honor to Northwest Ohio Alzheimer’s Association or The Landings of Oregon.
