Richard S. Doolin, age 84, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away surrounded by those he loved, on Monday, February 2, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Richard and Jane (Mullen) Doolin.

He was a man of great character, known for his warmth, humor, and love for life. He grew up in a vibrant community and graduated from Central Catholic High School, later pursuing further education with some courses at the University of Toledo before embarking on a dedicated career. Richard devoted 31 years of his life to Jeep, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his hard work and commitment.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Richard found joy in fishing and squirrel hunting. His enthusiasm extended to his support for his favorite sports teams, notably the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Lions. He was never shy about displaying his loyalty, sharing his passion for these teams with friends and family alike.

He lived life to the fullest, always eager to try new things, find laughter in everyday moments, and brighten the day of those around him. His ability to make others smile was one of his most endearing qualities. As a proud Irishman, he celebrated his heritage with distinction, embracing every opportunity to share the significance it held for him.

He will be remembered as a great husband and best friend. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marsha (Medley) Doolin, whom he married on March 17, 1992; furry companion, Coco; sister-in-law, Debra Auger; brother-in-law, Scott Lutz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Kelly Doolin; sister, Kathleen Metzger; nephew, Jason Scott; niece, Tiffany Urban; great niece, Annabelle Older; father and mother-in-law, Terry and Marilyn Lutz; and sister-in-law, Karen Rooks.

At this time, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freck Funeral Chapel, to help the family with expenses.
