Richard V. Snyder Sr., age 92, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026. Richard was born to George and Harriet (Ringman) Snyder on February 5, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio. Richard married the love of his life, Deanna (Staniford), on May 31, 1958; together they shared 66 years of marriage before her passing in 2024. Richard and Deanna were long-time members of Prince of Peace and enjoyed traveling in their RV in their younger years.
Richard worked for the City of Toledo as a traffic engineer for 28 years and for the sewer department for 3 years, retiring May 1, 1985.
Richard is survived by sons, Richard (Sandra) Snyder Jr. and Michael (Kymberley) Snyder; grandsons Ricky (Stephanie), Justin (Melissa), Tyler (Alexandra), Matthew (Ariel), and 6 great-grandchildren, Carson, Preston, Norah, Ryan, Dawson, and Callan; and sister, Delores Tressler. Along with his wife Deanna, he was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Harriet; brothers George Jr. and Eugene James; and sisters Evelyn, Rosemary, Margaret, and Geraldine.
A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4155 Pickle Rd. in Oregon, Ohio, on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11 a.m., where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
