Robert J. Fix

February 23, 1942 — April 29, 2025

Robert J. Fix, age 83, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025. He was born on February 23, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Joseph J. and Joan (Zdybek) Fix.

Robert graduated from Rossford High School with the class of 1961. He got a job out of high school with General Motors as a Job Setter, where he devoted 40 years before retiring. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every task he undertook, winning several awards for his improvement and suggestions with GM.

There were many interests Robert had, including being a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church for 55 years, where his faith was an important part of his life. Health and fitness were a significant aspect of his daily life, as well. He enjoyed bowling, where he once achieved a perfect 300 game. His passion for golf was matched by his enthusiasm for fishing and following the Ohio State Buckeyes. As a true lover of muscle cars, especially Chevy models, Robert had a keen appreciation for American automotive history, which he often shared with fellow enthusiasts.

For 48 years, the family cherished vacationing together at Little Platte Lake in Michigan. These trips were filled with shared experiences such as fishing, watching breathtaking sunsets, and touring local wineries, all of which created lasting memories that enriched the bonds of family. He took great joy in attending his granddaughters' school activities and was a steadfast supporter of his grandson as he pursued his love for golf. He was known for his loving and caring nature, always extending support to his kids and grandkids.

Robert's legacy is marked by support for his family, his persistent pursuit of joy through hobbies and interests, and the strong values he lived by. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie (Magrum) Fix, whom he married on September 12, 1964; three daughters, Carrie (Dale) DeWeese, Kelly Clark, and Mary (Larry) Sprague; grandchildren, Samantha (Dean) Witty, Nicole (Nick) Sheehan, Caitlyn Sprague (fiancé, RJ), and Cameron DeWeese (fiancé, Averi); great grandchildren, Weston Witty, Kiera Witty, and Lainey Sheehan; brother, Norman Fix; brother-in-law, Larry Mandell; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Fix; sister, Patricia Mandell, and sister-in-law, Beverly Fix.
