Robert L. Murray, 71, passed away on March 15, 2025 at his home in Oregon, Ohio. He was born to Lowel and Rosann (Hammond) Murray in Oregon, Ohio on October 26, 1953. Robert was a 1971 graduate of Clay High School. He would go on to meet Karen Struffolino and they were married on November 18, 1988. Robert and Karen raised two children together and celebrated 36 years of marriage.
Robert was an INC technician for Davis- Bessie retiring from the organization after over 35+ years of employment. Robert was an avid sports fan cheering on both the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Yankees. He was particularly passionate about hockey and his favorite team to support was the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was known to sit back and listen, keeping to himself until someone brought up a topic (often sports) that would interest him. He enjoyed partaking in bowling and golf. At one point during the 1980s, Robert owned his own race horse. While passionate about sports, Robert loved and cared for his family deeply.
Robert is survived by his wife, Karen Murray; children Kelly (Dan) Jacobs and Bret ( Tammy) Myers; grandchildren, Chelsea (Jermey), Brandon, Bailey, Ayden, Ronnie, Nate, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, James and Christian; brother; Don (Lois) Murray; sisters, Sue (Bill) Roebuch and Nancie (Rich) Devaul; mother-in-law; Naomi Struffolino; brothers-in-law; Cork (Marsha) and Scott (Robin) Struffolino along with many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Robert’s canine companion Daisy and good friend Jeff Welch. Preceding Robert in death are his parents, nephew Matt Murray, brother-in-law Tim Struffolino, and father-in-law James Struffolino.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 2- 3:00 p.m. where a memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. The family wants to extend special thanks to the ICU nurses and staff and Toledo Hospital for the care they provided to Robert.
