Roberto R. Vasquez

August 26, 1963 — May 11, 2026

Roberto R. Vasquez, age 62, resident of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on August 26, 1963, to Juan M. and Sarah (Ruiz) Vasquez.

Roberto’s professional journey included his tenure at Omni Source in Toledo.

His bond with his beloved dog, Cheeky, was one of the defining relationships of his life. Devoted to her companionship, he was seldom apart from her except when attending the many medical appointments and chemotherapy sessions he faced with courage. When health allowed, he cherished taking Cheeky on evening rides.

An avid sports enthusiast, Roberto was a passionate supporter of baseball, proudly rooting for the Detroit Tigers and the Toledo Mudhens. Sundays were reserved for football, when he avidly followed the Minnesota Vikings.

Before his illness, Roberto and his wife found happiness in travel. Whether frequent weekend excursions to Hocking Hills, spirited trips to downtown Toledo, or exciting city escapes in Florida and Las Vegas, Roberto embraced these adventures with enthusiasm. These moments of leisure and togetherness remain cherished memories.

Though his health battle was a challenge, his spirit remained unyielding, and his presence will be missed by all who knew him. This isn’t goodbye, but we will see you again!...

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tammy Vasquez; children, Roberto (Crystal) Vasquez Jr., Martin Garcia, Juan Garcia, Sarah (Benny) Siebers, and Raquel (Juan) Hernandez; sister, Hope (Manuel) Munoz; brothers, Juan (Althea) Vasquez and David Vasquez; numerous grandchildren; and his beloved furry companion, Cheeky.

Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Sarah Vasquez; sister and brother-in-law, Rosa and Steven Stamper; great-grandson, Eliseo Garcia; and nieces, Colleen Stamper and Brittany Vasquez;

The family would like to thank Dr. Al-Khalili and his partner, Dr. Ayoubi for their support, care, and compassion they gave to not only Roberto, but the entire family.

To honor Roberto’s wishes, he will be cremated and a private family burial will take place at Forest Cemetery at a later date.
