Robin Jean Hathaway

Robin Jean Hathaway, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.

Robin was born on June 12, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Lester and Violet (Boose) Blakeley. She graduated from Clay High School in 1972.

Throughout her life, Robin was a hardworking and caring woman. She worked at Dresch Tolson as a dental lab assistant and, for a short time, at Hollywood Casino Toledo as a kitchen cleaner. Robin later operated her own home cleaning business, from which she had recently retired.

Robin had a special place in her heart for animals and was always willing to care for a stray or an animal in need. Her greatest joy, however, was her family—especially her grandchildren, Hudson and Finley, who were truly the apples of her eye. Robin could often be found at the baseball or softball field, on the sidelines of a football game, or in the gym, proudly cheering them on. Being their grandmother brought her tremendous happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Robin is survived by her son, Jeremy (Ashlee) Hathaway; her beloved grandchildren, Hudson and Finley; her siblings, Bonnie Koester, Binnie Caswell, and Page Michalski; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Violet Blakeley; her beloved husband, David Hathaway; and her sister, Peggie Kuhl.

Robin will be remembered for her love of family, her compassion for animals, and the joy she found in simply being present for the people she loved. Her family will especially miss seeing her in the stands and on the sidelines, always there to support her grandchildren and cheer them on.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, on Friday, October 30, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Toledo Humane Society.

Robin's love for her family will live on through the many memories they shared and the lives she touched along the way.
